1949 Typ29 prototype #4
There is a lot of excitement going on about a very early bus that might have been found. Rikki James started it on SSVC. Since then everybody seems to guess along, also on TheSamba. The van on the pics is an East Germaned barndoor-wannabee, recently purchased by the Grundmanns. They for sure know what they are buying, but I doubt this really is much more than a hackjob. But if the Grundmanns should be involved I am sure we'll hear/see more about it in HO! Others think the stir is caused due to some confusion with Johnny D.'s Tempter prototype replica, another epic project to hit the scene hard when finished! To cut the story short: watch the links and/or this space....!

D+S Hardtop Coupe
Some of you have followed the story of this amazing barnfind. A 1954 Dannenhauer & Stauss hardtop coupé, one of only three ever built. It lives in the US and just had its first public show off at Kelley Park. Cinderella for car lovers, I simply love the car and the story!

Ahhhh....
...now I know! From the GFK thread: "Its based on a split bus chassis with a hand made aluminium body by a company called ' Keller Karosserie Lampertheim ' which was based in Austria. It was found in Germany and Ben brought it to the UK. This was October last year!" More on evilbens of course!

Neumann VW
Just stumbled over this odd car. Apparently it's a self made coachbuilt, based a '43 Kübelwagen and built in the former GDR in the 50s by talented Mr. Neumann! Talking about rare cars, this is the only existing Neumann VW! Check the hole story on AutoBild Klassik, unfortunately in German only!

D+S Hardtop
If you have wondered where the über-rare D+S hardtop ended up, now you know! Sitting in SoCal in a very special workshop I guess we can all look forward to another jawdropping project!

Read the story here. These pics are stolen from Stevo. More about it here. I hope it won't stay on Radars...
