Stencilforce

I do like stencils, I created this one out of an old Gola shoe box...
Porsche 944 discs are waiting as well. Picture shows the set up before the overhaul by Michael of German Aircult.

I just love Antracite L 469...Go to KCW to see more about that awesome panel.
I started to play around with google Sketch-up recently. You can download it for free! You get a (very basic) 3D model of the van there too. I will use it to develop the interior of my van. It's very good for checking colours, materials and principles, but not for technical drawings...
This is basically the colour combination the van will get. The pictures is stolen from the blog of the previous owner: http://onlysplits.skynetblogs.be/
The "strong and good running 1835ccm" engine is nothing but a broken 1300ccm type 1 engine! But Rhino will sort this problem for me...
NEVER buy a car via the internet without checking it yourself! Stupid as I am I trusted the seller and his pictures. I got badly cheated. The first image shows the left side of the van "in perfect condition", the second one is the reality from the inside. The seller said he had to sell his beloved van to pay for his house, but he sold at least 3 more "restored" vans since I bought this one...
The complete frame is filled with that crap!

Weird

The previous owner in France had his own understanding of a proper restoration. He filled the frame with some weird hard plastic and added steel rods as reinforcement....! Great, so if the car is ever in danger of breaking into two parts the rods prevent it from doing so...Very nice, and a lot of fun to get rid of it...!

Belts have arrived

My dear colleague Paul brought back some belts for me from the States. He left on Friday night for a stag weekend and was back in the office in London on Monday morning...Good man! Note the logo on the belts, Simpson do not produce these belts with logos anymore...You have to be very persuasive to get some like these...
